UNITY: Embracing Humanity, Community, and Opportunity with Western Sydney University
Sydney Meya Conservatory of Chinese Music is honoured to attend the 16th Annual Intersections and Interventions conference at Western Sydney University from 19-20 November 2024.
Each year, this event gives postgraduate students in the School of Humanities and Communication Arts and the Writing and Society Research Centre the opportunity to engage with, and learn from, their peers across a diverse range of fields and disciplines.
This year’s extremely apt conference theme, ‘UNITY: Embracing Humanity, Community, and Opportunity’, focuses on building connections and finding common ground, and celebrates the important ways that Higher Degree Research contributes a healthy and vibrant society.
This year’s conference is an exchange performance from the Sydney Meya Conservatory of Chinese Music and Western Sydney University.
The performances showcase a unique fusion of tradional Chinsese and Western music. Chiense instruments-including the erhu, guzheng, pipa, and dizi - joined with the Western accordion to bring both Chinese and Western classics to life.
Each music piece performed promises a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western musical traditions, creating an unforgettable cross-cultural experience.
