Henry Chen currently serves as the erhu instructor at the Sydney Meya Conservatory of Chinese Music.
He has won first prizes multiple times in national music competitions and has participated in overseas Chinese consolation performances led by the Ministry of Education. During his tenure as the leader of the Huagang Orchestra at the Chinese Culture University, he led the team to achieve excellent results in competitions.
Later, he was admitted to the Youth Chinese Orchestra affiliated with the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, where he served as a member of the string bass section and participated in touring performances. He has conducted research on traditional Northern and Southern Chinese folk music as well as guqin performance, and has organized chamber music concerts.
Teaching Philosophy: Tailoring instruction to individual needs, cultivating musical sensitivity, and unlocking potential.
He customizes exclusive teaching plans based on age and proficiency level, laying a solid foundation gradually. By exploring a variety of musical pieces, enriching styles, and deepening emotions, he enhances the vividness and expressiveness of performances. His goal is to promote greater understanding and acceptance of this traditional instrument in Australia and cultivate outstanding talents in erhu performance.

曾多次获得全国性音乐比赛一等奖,并参加由教育部主导的海外华侨慰问演出活动。在担任中国文化大学华冈乐团的团长时,曾带领团队乐手参加比赛屡创佳绩。
后考入台北市立国乐团附设青年国乐团,先后担任弦乐低音组革胡及中胡团员参与巡回演出;对传统北管与南管民间音乐以及古琴演奏做过研究,并举办过室内乐协奏演出。
